Relic Of Mind
Deriving inspiration from OKGO's song "End Love," Relic of Mind is the brand system for a hypothetical second-hand video-game store. The logo depicts a frutiger aero style head with lava lamp wax floating out of the permeable skull, combined with a hyper stylized 3D word-mark. Together, these elements give a visual identity to my personal interpretation of the way "End Love" sounds to me.
This project attempts to capture personality attributes from a purely auditory medium and translate them into a working identity system that shares the same attributes but visually. "End Love" is a 2000's pop-synth song that feels slightly unsettling with odd time signatures and key shifts; almost fabricated. I wanted to reflect these qualities in the brand identity by using an unconventional color palette, low-poly 3D rendering, and high-noise textures, making the logo feel like it escaped from Windows 7.
